On Monday, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a short video on X that says, “There’s something in the Air,” with the caption, “This week,” hinting at the launch of the highly anticipated MacBook Air M4 and iPad Air M3. This will be Apple’s second product launch of 2025, where the company is expected to introduce the MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip, which might also lead to the discontinuation of the MacBook Air M2. Additionally, Apple is anticipated to unveil the iPad Air M3, which is likely to replace the current iPad Air M2.
The MacBook Air M4, like its predecessor (review), is expected to come in two sizes and different color options, featuring 13-inch and 15-inch displays. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, the look and feel of the MacBook Air M4 will be identical to the previous generation, with the latest chip offering improved performance and power efficiency.
Unlike the MacBook Air M4, the upcoming iPad Air is speculated to ship with the previous-generation M3 chip, keeping the latest M4 chip exclusive to the more expensive flagship iPad Pro models. Again, the design of the iPad Air M3 is expected to be similar to the iPad Air M2, with a smaller 11-inch model and a larger 13-inch model.
With both models supporting Apple Intelligence, the iPad Air M3 is likely to offer at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the MacBook Air M4 is expected to offer at least 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
In terms of pricing, both the MacBook Air M4 and the iPad Air M3 are likely to be priced similarly to their predecessors. The iPad Air M3 might carry a starting price of around Rs 60,000, while the base model of the MacBook Air M4 could cost Rs 1,15,000.
