Instagram, the Meta owned social media that lets you share pictures and videos with others, recently introduced a new feature that allows users to send scheduled Direct Messages (DMs). This is really handy for people who want to share memes or send text messages with others at a specific time as well as for creators who want to engage with their audience at a particular time. If you are looking for a way to schedule Instagram a DM for later, here’s how to use the new functionality.

How to schedule DMs on Instagram?
1. Open Instagram and head over to the Direct Messages (DMs) section by swiping right from the home screen or tapping on the message option from the top right corner.
2. Now, open the conversation you want to send a message to later and type it in the text box.
3. Instead of hitting the send button, long press on it and a new “Schedule message” option will appear.
4. Here, set the date and time you want to message to be sent and tap on the blue button once done.
Note: Instagram lets you schedule messages up to 29 days in advance and will show a small “scheduled message” banner at the bottom of the conversation every time you open the chat. If you tap on it, it will open a new screen where you can see all your scheduled messages.
